On May 25th 2016, Natalie Gagliordi wrote an article for ZD Net that talks about how well Hewlett Packard is doing. Hewlett Packard Inc announced their second quarter financial results however the results show that the company is not doing so well in terms of the PC and printer hardware market. By looking at the second quarter results from the balance sheet, segment revenues are considered down around the board.
In terms of numbers, the revenue fell around 10 percent in terms of personal systems. In terms of consumer sales, revenue dropped 16 percent. Not only are these numbers down, but also the commercial sales and printing revenue, dropping down 7 percent and 16 percent respectively.
Hewlett Packard has reported a $660 million net income or 38 cents per share. Wall Street was estimating earnings of 38 cents per share with an $11.72 billion in revenue.
Here is what Dion Weisler said about the earnings, despite the harsh market conditions that the company is currently experiencing. Weisler does not seem phased by this as their long term strategy is still in full effect. "I'm confident in our ability to execute and remain committed to our plan for growth."
