Last month, Intel has promised to review and cut more products from their line as part of a company-wide plan to restructure which includes laying off an estimated 12,000 employees. This initiative was introduced to cease production on things like the Atom smartphone chips in order to redirect its resources to making more profitable products in areas like servers, hybrid devices, gaming PCs, and 5G connectivity.
