The Intel Core chips are dominating the PC market currently however that doesn’t mean that Intel is not working on the Pentium and Celeron brands. Intel is planning to release a new type of chip called the Apollo Bay sometime during the latter half of 2016.
The Apollo chip will be implemented in lower cost laptops as they are going to use the Goldmont. The Goldmont is considered a low-powered Microprocessor architecture code. In addition to all of this, the Future Atom chips will also be using the Goldmont.
As expected, the prices of low cost entry leveled PC that have the Celeron or Pentium chips will increase with the newly implemented core chips that will produce faster speeds.
The Pentium and Celeron N3000 chips, also known as the Braswell, will be succeeded by the Apollo Bay chips. The Braswell is based off of older designs such as the Airmont architecture was also used in lowered end laptops such as Chromebooks and even some tablets.
