Netduma has been in the works of creating its own type of gaming router for many years and finally found a more efficient solution to its goal. Joining Netgear Inc, they have discovered a way to bring both their resources to create a greater unit. Releasing the latest innovative networking system by the name Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR500 router and Nighthawk SX10 10G/Multi-Gig LAN Switch. The partnering companies have created a router that has the potential to carry out 56 Gbps of bandwidth.
According to the Pcworld.com the XR500 is a
“dual-band AC2600 model supporting MU-MIMO, four spatial streams per frequency band, and beam forming. It’s powered by a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 256MB of flash memory and 512MB of RAM. There’s a four-port gigabit switch onboard for making wired connections, and two USB 3.0 ports that can be used to share USB storage over the network.”
Netgear was aware of the potential that Netduma had but believed that it could do it a greater good by providing them with top of the line computer hardware. Bringing together both the software and the hardware was in lue of competing with parallel network companies like Linksys and Killer Software.
When requiring more than four ports to be used in your console the gigabit ethernet switch is required. This will enable users to have gaming port with each user obtaining one for themselves. These ports are often limited to four slots that transmit only one gigabit per slot. The switch comes equipped with eight Gbps on top of two “multi-speed” uplinks that have different kind of variation. The variation that the uplinks can provide are 100Mbps, 1-,2.5-, 5-, and or 10GbE ports.
Currently the switch along with the XR500 are priced at $300 US each, MSRP.
