Apple Inc. is getting ready to debut their second edition of the Apple Watch, with rumors swirling that it will be debuted at an event in March 2016. Nothing is confirmed at this moment, as it has only been reported by an anonymous source who has “knowledge of the plans”. The potential date would mark nearly one calendar year since the first Apple Watch went on sale.
Added benefits of the new model would be a Front facing digital camera installed in the device, better Wi-Fi capabilities, and health-tracking software that can measure heart rate with built in sensors.
Apple watches currently are available in a dozen models, and are typically priced between $350 and $400. Configurations to choose from include Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch, Apple Watch Hermès, and Apple Watch Edition. Displays can come on a 38mm or 42mm screen. Each watch has eight gigabytes of storage and 512 megabytes of RAM Memory.
Also on the horizon is a smaller, four-inch iPhone. The miniature iPhone would have the same A9 microprocessor chip as the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in a smaller, metal body. The 5S is the only current model available in the smaller size. This information was first reported by KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also cited sources close to Apple.
With brands such as Samsung opting to go bigger with their mobile phones, Apple has gone the other way to appeal to a different type of user. Some customers have expressed desire for a smaller phone because it is easier to use with one hand. Whether that is for texting while driving or otherwise is completely up to the person using it. It is not surprising from Apple to go this route, as they have been making their products more compact and more efficient at every turn.
